Cabanes: a

slice of history

Cabanes seduces you with a multicultural past you can savour on every corner. Cabanes is history. One of the first civilisations, the Iberians, chose this area to build their settlements. You can see their legacy on Mortórum hill or in the magical settlement, now underwater, beside the coast. The Romans and Arabs left a rich innovative imprint on this monumental land, which became a town in 1243, as part of the Miravet district. It is not hard to imagine why so many civilisations chose Cabanes to live in: a nourishing, diverse, open and beautiful geography that embraces those who visit it.
We also have two nature reserves: Prat de Cabanes and Desert de les Palmes.
