Trail of the Towers
Type: BICYCLE TOURING.
Distance: 15 km.
Estimated time: 4 h.
A trail where cyclists can visit various medieval buildings in a perfect state of preservation. A total of 4 watchtowers, and a fortified chapel at the foot of one of the three castles in Cabanes. La Sal Tower, Gats Tower, Carme Tower, Carmelet Tower and the fortified chapel of Albalat.
Pou de Saura
Distance: 17 km.
To the north of the town of Cabanes, the trail is a succession of paths and tracks through predominantly undulating terrain. In the area of the “Els Llorenços” ravine there are some off-road downhill sections.
Distance: 22 km.
Estimated time: 9 h.
It runs eastwards towards the Mediterranean Sea. While the first section is a continuous descent along the “Treballadors” path (among fruit trees), the second section climbs up the Fontanelles ravine on the way back to Cabanes.
Les Santes Trail
Distance: 30 km.
Estimated time: 8 h.
This trail offers breath-taking views of the Mediterranean. Heading towards the Serra de les Santes mountains and Desert de Les Palmes Nature Reserve, to the south of the town there is a steep ascent to the highest peaks in the mountain range. The descent follows a forest track to the Les Santes Chapel, while the last stretch is a final ascent to Cabanes.
Distance: 14 km.
Difficulty: Very Difficult.
Track: 37217232109444 de IBPindex
Its short distance may be deceptive; in reality it is an off-road challenge suitable for only the most experienced bikers. It goes in a south-easterly direction towards the Ferradura mountain range among fields of crops typical of the area. Once you reach the Ferradura path, on the slopes of the mountain range, there are four tough off-road kilometres with a steep descent in the final stretch towards the abandoned mines in Font del Campello. Before linking up with trail 2, on the way back to the town, you need to go 2 km up the CV-146 road.
Distance: 12 km.
Among almond and pine groves, the trail heads southeast from the town to Llomet de Roca, where a downhill section along a path begins. In the Barranc de la Font ravine it joins the Ferradura trail.
