The Slow Moments Festival in La Plana de l’Arc, subsidised by the Provincial Council of Castellón, pays tribute to olleta

On October 4th in Vilafamés, with music, art and gastronomy

Vilafamés (Castellón) will host a new edition of the Slow Moments Festival on October 4th, subsidised by the Provincial Council of Castellón, an event that celebrates gastronomy, culture and slow-paced traditions. This year, the spotlight will be on olleta, a traditional stew shared by the seven municipalities of La Plana de l’Arc: Benlloc, Cabanes, Les Coves de Vinromà, La Torre d’en Doménec, Vall d’Alba, Vilafamés and Vilanova d’Alcolea.

Each municipality will prepare its own version of this dish, with seasonal variations that offer visitors a journey through the diverse culinary heritage of the region.

Vilafamés, one of the most beautiful villages in Spain

The festival takes place in Vilafamés, recognised as one of the most beautiful villages in Spain thanks to its stone old town, cobbled streets and panoramic views. Located in the heart of La Plana de l’Arc, it combines medieval heritage, contemporary art and an agricultural landscape.

A day of art, music, and local products

The programme will open with a performance by MACVAC, the Vicente Aguilera Cerni Museum of Contemporary Art. Throughout the day, visitors will enjoy tastings of wines and local products from La Plana de l’Arc, produced by wineries and farmers committed to local and sustainable agriculture.

Live music will also play a key role, with performances ending in a hip hop concert from Castellón, linking tradition with new generations.

Activities for all audiences

The festival will feature a family-friendly urban gymkhana to discover Vilafamés in a playful way, as well as children’s activities with workshops and games. Activities are free of charge, although tickets will be required in advance for the olleta tastings.

Promoted by the La Plana de l’Arc Product Club and supported by the Provincial Council of Castellón, the Slow Moments Festival reinforces the region’s commitment to slow, sustainable tourism rooted in local identity.
