La Plana de l’Arc welcomes the Slow Moments Festival Saturnalia, sponsored by the Castellón Provincial Council.
On December 21st, La Plana de l’Arc will open the doors to the Slow Moments
Festival,sponsored by the Castellón Provincial Council, with a unique and evocative
proposal: ‘Saturnalia,’ a Roman ritual that will transport attendees to one of the most deeply
rooted winter festivities in ancient Roman society. This celebration was dedicated to Saturn,
the protector of the harvest, in gratitude for the fruits of the earth and as a tribute to fertility
and abundance.
The event will not only recreate this significant historical ritual but will also offer a wide
program of cultural, artistic, and gastronomic activities for all audiences.
Festival Highlights:
● Birdwatching tour: An opportunity to discover the area’s biodiversity with a guided
visit to the Toll de Cabrera, led by Numenius Tours.
● Roman ritual ‘Saturnalia’: A welcoming performance recreating this ancient Roman
celebration, accompanied by music from Cowards Music.
● Cultural talks and workshops: A discussion on the evolution of food in the Roman
Empire, with a culinary demonstration by renowned chef Miguel Barrera from the
restaurant Cal Paradís.
● Artistic and environmental workshops: Activities include a wild edible plants
workshop led by Perla Bibb and a free cyanotype and photography workshop.
● Gastronomic experience with Terrenae: A culinary journey through ancient
civilizations highlighting traditional flavors.
● Local product tasting: Wine and nougat pairing led by Bodega Víctor Bellmunt
and Turrones Agut.
● A dish for lunch: Meat stew prepared by the Association of Women of Vall
d’Alba, showcasing local cuisine with native products.
● Children’s activities: Workshops and games for the youngest attendees throughout
the day.
● Artistic performances: A musical performance by Rosio Cano and the final show,
Dansem la Terra, will bring the festival to a spectacular close.
