La Plana de l’Arc takes part in the workshop on cycle tourism as a driver of territorial transformation in Vilafamés

On Monday, April 29th, La Plana de l’Arc took part in the in-person participatory workshop “Cycle Tourism as a Driver of Territorial Transformation”, held at the Municipal Library of Vilafamés. The event, organized within the framework of the Pedal Spain project and promoted by the collective Biela y Tierra, brought together individuals and organizations linked to tourism, cycling, rural development, and regional revitalization.

During the two-hour workshop, participants from across the region collectively reflected on the role of cycle tourism in rural development, its economic, social, and environmental impacts, and the challenges and opportunities it faces. The session emphasized the importance of building a collaborative network between public, private, and social actors to foster a more sustainable tourism model rooted in the local territory.

The workshop concluded with a tasting of local products, strengthening the link between cycle tourism, gastronomy, and the local economy.

The Pedal Spain project aims to promote cycle tourism as a tool for territorial promotion in Spain, by creating a national network of stakeholders in the sector. Vilafamés was one of the five stops on the workshop tour, along with regions in Aragón, Andalucía, Asturias, and Castilla-La Mancha.

From La Plana de l’Arc, we highly value this kind of initiative, which gives voice to the territory, promotes sustainable mobility, and projects our regional identity through cycling tourism.
