La Plana de l’Arc hosts the “Slow Moments” festival in Vilafamés, subsidised by the Provincial Council of Castellón, with “olleta” as the main attraction
On October 4th, La Plana de l’Arc held a new edition of the “Slow Moments” festival in Vilafamés, subsidised by the Provincial Council of Castellón, a day dedicated to highlighting the gastronomy, local products and traditions of the region. On this occasion, olleta, a traditional local stew, was the main focus of the event.
The festival brought together the seven municipalities that make up the mancomunidad —Benlloc, Cabanes, Les Coves de Vinromà, La Torre d’En Doménec, Vall d’Alba, Vilafamés and Vilanova d’Alcolea—, as well as the La Plana de l’Arc Product Club and seven local housewives’ associations, one from each participating municipality.
Each association prepared its own version of the traditional olleta, which visitors were able to taste throughout the day. The programme also included a discussion about this emblematic dish, along with musical performances, gastronomic tastings, live showcooking demonstrations and a KM0 market featuring local products.
Activities for children were also organised, encouraging family participation and creating a festive and welcoming atmosphere.
The festival served as a meeting point to enjoy the flavours of the region and to strengthen collaboration between municipalities, associations and organisations that form part of La Plana de l’Arc, with the support of the Provincial Council of Castellón.
